Keryx Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. (KERX) saw its loss widen to $41.70 million, or $0.39 a share for the quarter ended Sep. 30, 2016. In the previous year period, the company reported a loss of $30.74 million, or $0.29 a share.

Revenue during the quarter surged 50.59 percent to $6.34 million from $4.21 million in the previous year period.

Operating loss for the quarter was $41.83 million, compared with an operating loss of $30.82 million in the previous year period.

"We are ready to promptly make Auryxia available to pharmacies, pending approval of this manufacturer, which has a November 13, 2016 PDUFA date. Since August, we have been working closely with the kidney community to support them through the supply interruption. We are committed to maintaining a consistent supply of Auryxia, and we are working to ensure that the renal care teams will confidently prescribe Auryxia again."
